Cloetta’s popular and much-loved products would not be on the market were it not for the people who work for and with Cloetta. Cloetta has around 2,600 employees in 14 countries working with sales, marketing, production and product development as well as in various support functions. Cloetta’s head office is in Stockholm, Sweden.

Cloetta’s Operations division is responsible for production, purchasing, planning, logistics, quality, technology and safety. In Cloetta’s Operations division are 8 factories in Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia and Ireland. In Sneek, we produce with a team of 110 colleague's more than 6.000 tonnes chewing gum (Sportlife, Xylifresh, Jenkki), KINGpeppermint and sweets under the brands Redband and Venco.

Key responsibilities

The Plant Manager role is a pivotal (senior) role in our Operation with full accountability for the site. This accountability stretches from all employees on site to delivery of quality goods at right cost and on time as well as from (legal) compliance to full P&L accountability and the strategy. A very broad role with huge opportunities to develop and deliver as an individual (with your teams) and drive the unit and business to a higher level based on agreed plans. The role reports to a Manufacturing Director.

As Plant Manager you will deploy the operational long (3-5 years) and short (1 year) term targets plan for the site. The timely execution of these plans is essential as well as driving Operational excellence in line with the Cloetta strategies and Philosophy. This way contributing to enabling value growth and realising the required savings to offset yearly inflation in conversion cost with ongoing cost reduction initiatives. The plant manager is the site leader and part of the Manufacturing leadership team.

The plant manager is leading the plant as a continuously improving operation by:

-      developing and engaging the employees

-      through ways of working (mindset and behaviour and using Cloetta’s operating model)

-      making efficient use of people, materials and machinery

-      producing products of the right quality and quantity at the right time

 

The priorities for the next 3 year are:

-      Improve reliability and efficiency of the site through Lean initiatives. Using Lean as an enabler and development tool, while embedding through shop floor

-      Become employer of choice through culture, pride and teamwork (Talent development, GPTW)

-      Safety and Quality through leadership

-      Develop a 5-year roadmap/Masterplan for the unit to set the strategy for the future (People, product, machine) in accordance with the Operations strategy and Cloetta’s            values

Job requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience in working in an international manufacturing environment
  • Ability to engage and motivate teams and to take people with her/him
  • Pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving with a strong eye for detail
  • Ability to balance analytical rigor with entrepreneurial spirit and consistently drive for continuously improved results
  • Ability to communicate and convey the plan and direction accessible and understandable to all
  • Fluent in English
  • Higher vocational or University (Bachelor or Masters degree)
  • Background in technical and/or food is beneficial
